Art Retreats
This year marks the launch of Threshold Art Retreats—intimate sessions that invite anyone feeling called to creative exploration to experience the château’s profound power firsthand.
What makes these retreats especially meaningful is their connection to something larger. Every retreat participant directly supports the foundation’s ongoing mission to provide residencies for both emerging and established artists. Your creative week becomes part of a nearly century-long tradition of nurturing artistic vision.
The picturesque beauty of the South of France offers a refreshing perspective on the world for guests seeking a creative retreat. All skill levels are welcome.
Each week combines daily art instruction sessions led by expert instructors with free studio time, and optional holistic practices like rooftop yoga and sound-bowl meditation. Activities abound on-site and throughout the region In addition to the light and color that inspire creativity, the Riviera has long been a site for leisure and recreational activities, all just a few steps away. This is all about creating the experience that calls to you!

JOIN A WORKSHOP
Art Students League of Denver, February 12-19, 2025
Join ASLD in the South of France, at the beautiful La Napoule Art Foundation, for a special atelier working alongside contemporary realist painter Daniel Sprick. Sprick’s meticulously executed portraits and figurative compositions combine muted palettes to achieve a sense of stillness and slow contemplation. His paintings feature a range of subjects, from still lifes of objects to interiors and urban and pastoral scenes. Participants will spend five days painting with Sprick, learning from him as he works. Each day may include some demonstrations and discussion of his techniques while you work together in this beautiful setting. The evenings will include critiques. Please note, this will be a self-guided experience for much of the time.
For information or to reserve your spot, contact Rachel Basye, r.basye@asld.org.
