With residency partners in 6 regions that influenced James Baldwin’s life and work, 3-4 Black writers will be placed in each residency during this centennial year. LMB is committed to covering the travel expenses for those chosen residents, as well as providing a stipend.

LNAF is excited to partner with LMB to be a part of this important initiative. LNAF will select 4 Black writers to attend the spring 2025 International Artist Residency, joining 6 other artists and creatives from around the world at the Château de La Napoule from February 24 – March 24, 2025.

  • It is expected that each participant will conduct themself with a high level of professionalism while in residence.
  • All equipment and materials are the responsibility of the artist.
  • The use of illegal drugs or the possession of such drugs on the premises is prohibited.
  • There is a fee for any overnight guests, based on availability. Prior approval is required.
