Foundation Journal: A Summer in Many Forms

This summer, the Château took on a new character from week to week. In the Galerie Blanche, the paintings, textiles, and assemblages of Mise en abyme extended the work Erin LeAnn Mitchell and Kaitlyn Tucek began during their residencies. Created largely on site, the exhibition evolved further through its encounter with visitors, their questions, and their interpretations. It remains on view through September 20.

At nightfall, the courtyard became a stage for a wide range of artistic worlds. For its fourth edition, Château en Musique, presented in partnership with M.G.Art, brought Vivaldi, instrumental techno, opera, and jazz into dialogue with the site’s architecture. On August 4 and 5, both performances of Éveil by Les Farfadais & Co sold out, filling the Château with music, dreamlike figures, and circus movement.

This season owes its energy to the artists, performers, companies, organizations, teams, and partners who envisioned it and brought it to life, as well as the many visitors who joined us for these events. The Foundation extends its warmest thanks to them all.

These collaborations are central to how we work. The return of two former residents for Mise en abyme, the four editions developed with M.G.Art, and the ongoing dialogue with Les Farfadais & Co all reflect relationships that deepen over time. Several will continue into 2027 and give rise to new projects at the Château.

Summer continues into September. On September 13, La Baronne Festival by WOW will take over the courtyard and gardens with La Baronne’s Imaginary World, bringing electronic music, performances, and festive experiences. On September 20, European Heritage Days and the final day to discover Mise en abyme will come together. Two final events to carry forward the momentum of a season rich in creativity, encounters, and shared projects.
