Miners’ memories at La Napoule

3 May -2:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Still from the film Des vies au fond, by André, Bernard and Christian Grégorcic

The Château de La Napoule presents a day dedicated to the memory of the mining world, bringing together documentary cinema and theatrical creation.

Developed during a writing residency at the Château, Guy Fontaine’s project gives voice to Jean Olender, a former miner whose personal story echoes a broader collective history.

This event reflects a strong historical connection between La Napoule and the mining regions of Northern France: for several decades, generations of miners and their families spent their holidays at the nearby Agecroft estate.
