Exhibition: Mise en abyme – Erin LeAnn Mitchell & Kaitlyn Tucek

From July 12 to September 20, 2026, Château de La Napoule presents Mise en Abyme, an exhibition bringing together artists Erin LeAnn Mitchell and Kaitlyn Tucek, two former artists-in-residence of La Napoule Art Foundation.
Through painting, textile, drawing, installation, and assemblage, the works of both artists create a space of resonances where images, motifs, and narratives respond to one another. Between memory, perception, and imagination, Mise en Abyme invites visitors to navigate recurring forms, visual fragments, and unexpected correspondences.

About the Exhibition
Mise en Abyme brings together the work of Kaitlyn Tucek and Erin LeAnn Mitchell, two artists whose distinct visual practices engage in dialogue through a shared interest in memory, recurring motifs, and processes of transformation.
Throughout their work, images seem to circulate, repeat, and transform. A motif reappears in another form, a figure emerges and dissolves, a memory is reconstructed through fragments. Painting, textile, ceramics, installation, and performance coexist here without hierarchy, creating a sensitive dialogue between materials, forms, and narratives.
Conceived for the Galerie Blanche at Château de La Napoule, the exhibition unfolds as a space of perception and connection. Rather than presenting a single narrative, the works invite an open-ended experience where the boundaries between memory and imagination, reality and fiction, interior and exterior become increasingly porous.
