About the Workshop
As part of the European Heritage Days, Franco-Swiss artist Louise Laffaille invites you to an immersive workshop where water becomes matter, gesture, and inspiration.
During this watercolor workshop, you will discover techniques the artist learned from a Chinese master, highlighting the richness that water can bring to painting. You will experiment with the traces left by fresh and seawater, absorption effects, and the integration of natural materials. By working with light and shadow, each participant will create a landscape inspired by the surroundings of the Château.
Set in the enchanting grounds of the Château de la Napoule, by the Mediterranean Sea, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore your sensitivity, practice the art of letting go, and unleash your creativity.
About the Artist
Trained at ECAL (Lausanne) and the prestigious Art Students League of New York — under masters such as Ronnie Landfield and Paul Ching-Bor — Louise Laffaille has developed an intuitive pictorial practice attuned to natural rhythms.
She explores the traces water leaves as it dries, the shapes it generates, and the letting go it requires in the act of painting. Her artistic process embraces accidents and the unexpected, turning them into opportunities for discovery and expression.
