SUMMARY:Exhibition: Mise en abyme - Erin LeAnn Mitchell & Kaitlyn Tucek
DESCRIPTION:From July 12 to September 20\, 2026\, Château de La Napoule presents Mise en Abyme\, an exhibition bringing together artists Erin LeAnn Mitchell and Kaitlyn Tucek\, two former artists-in-residence of La Napoule Art Foundation. \nThrough painting\, textile\, drawing\, installation\, and assemblage\, the works of both artists create a space of resonances where images\, motifs\, and narratives respond to one another. Between memory\, perception\, and imagination\, Mise en Abyme invites visitors to navigate recurring forms\, visual fragments\, and unexpected correspondences. \n\nExhibition Opening Reception\nThe opening reception for Mise en Abyme will take place on Friday\, July 10\, 2026 at 6:30 PM at Château de La Napoule. \n\nDate: Friday\, July 10\, 2026\nTime: 6:30 PM\nLocation: Château de La Napoule\nFree admission upon registration\n\n➜ Register for the opening reception \n\nAbout the Exhibition\nMise en Abyme brings together the work of Kaitlyn Tucek and Erin LeAnn Mitchell\, two artists whose distinct visual practices engage in dialogue through a shared interest in memory\, recurring motifs\, and processes of transformation. \nThroughout their work\, images seem to circulate\, repeat\, and transform. A motif reappears in another form\, a figure emerges and dissolves\, a memory is reconstructed through fragments. Painting\, textile\, ceramics\, installation\, and performance coexist here without hierarchy\, creating a sensitive dialogue between materials\, forms\, and narratives. \nConceived for the Galerie Blanche at Château de La Napoule\, the exhibition unfolds as a space of perception and connection. Rather than presenting a single narrative\, the works invite an open-ended experience where the boundaries between memory and imagination\, reality and fiction\, interior and exterior become increasingly porous. \n➜ View the press kit \n \n \n\nVisitor Information\n\nLocation: Château de La Napoule – Avenue Henry Clews – Mandelieu-La Napoule\nDates: July 12 – September 20\, 2026\nOpening hours: Tuesday through Sunday\, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (opening hours may be subject to change due to private events. Please visit this page for information regarding exceptional closures.)\nAdmission: Château admission fee applies. Tickets available on site.\n\n➜ Visitor information and admission fees \n\nAbout the Artists\nErin LeAnn Mitchell | Photo credit: HADAS\n\nErin LeAnn Mitchell\n\nErin LeAnn Mitchell is a multidisciplinary artist from Birmingham\, Alabama\, who draws on African American craft traditions\, family narratives\, and material cultures to create works in which personal memory and collective heritage intertwine. Through textiles\, assemblage\, drawing\, and installation\, she develops a visual language rich in motifs\, materials\, and symbols\, where each element becomes a vehicle for storytelling and cultural transmission. \nwww.erinleannworks.com \n\n\n\nKaitlyn Tucek | Photo credit: Risa Friedman\n\nKaitlyn Tucek\n\nKaitlyn Tucek is an American multidisciplinary artist based in Denver\, Colorado\, who creates visual worlds in which images seem to emerge\, dissolve\, and transform before our eyes. Working across painting\, drawing\, installation\, and immersive environments\, she gives form to mental landscapes inhabited by ambiguous figures\, fragmentary memories\, and free associations\, inviting viewers to navigate the space between perception and imagination. \nwww.kaitlyntucek.com
